Pizza is pie typically made of flattened bread dough and covered with a savory mixture which usual includes tomatoes and cheese and often other toppings. Then it is baked. In some places it is called a pizza pie.
'Tis said, when the Persian Empire was at it's zenith, The soldiers of Darius the Great (521-486 B.C.), used to eat pizza on their long marches. They baked the crust on their shields and then covered it with cheese and dates. The pizza that is not their shields.
You can have pizza as a dessert. The topping consists of fruit, chocolate, candy, or other sweet items.
